Experimentación animal: principios xerais, aspectos éticos e legais

This didactic unit, from the theoretical and practical point of view, tries to justify the need to carry out animal experimentation in the field of biomedicine. In a succinct way, its history and evolution to this day are collected, making known the general principles by which it is governed to achieve validated results. Also, it is intended to raise awareness about animal welfare (bioethics) incorporating updated legislative regulations for in vivo work. Finally, the development of alternative methods (in vitro biological systems) is promoted in accordance with the 3R principle: replace, reduce and refine.
