The aim of this work is to provide the academic community with one more methodological tool for research in Linguistics. It makes available a collection of original medieval documents (of a private nature) in chronological sequence and selected on a basis of historico-chronological, geographical and typological criteria, transcribed in accordance with the principle of respect for the manuscript. The corpus consists of 153 private documents originating from the central coastal region of Portugal, specifically from a geo-sociocultural nerve-centre in medieval Portuguese culture: the monastery of Santa Maria at Alcobaça (IAN-TT, Lisbon).
